Si realment es vol protegir aquest massís boscós, és imprescindible atacar a la gestió mitjançant la ramaderia i els aprofitaments forestals. D'aquesta manera, reduint el volum de combustible i afavorint el creixement sa i estalvi del bosc, s'aconseguirà un increment de la biodiversitat, un decrement de patògens i plagues i un menor potencial d'incendi.
