Citizens' Assembly for Climate of Catalonia
#AssembleaClimaCAT Your voice is change
Here you can find information about the governance of the project.
Steering Group
The Steering Group is composed of independent experts and representatives of civil society from both the environmental sphere and citizen participation, and plays a very important role. It accompanies and supervises the project, from the initial planning and design phases of the Assembly through to its completion and the implementation of the results. The Generalitat de Catalunya must respond to its queries and proposals.
Its tasks are:
- To assess the overall design and its implementation, and provide input.
- To ensure the integrity and quality of the entire process, monitoring the results achieved and the expected impacts.
- To assess the most important aspects of the project and support the Generalitat de Catalunya in its decision-making.
The first constituent meeting of the Steering Group took place on 30 November 2022, and meetings have been convened on a regular basis since then. The minutes of its meetings can be found here (Add folder)
Content Group
The Content Group is composed of four experts from the fields of energy and food and agriculture, technical specialists from the Catalan Office for Climate Change and the Catalan Energy Institute, and a scientific journalist.
Its role is to define the information and content that is required and available in order to enable the participants to form a well-informed opinion during the learning phase, and to propose possible speakers with the Steering Group. This information must be balanced, and reflect the diverse nature of the attitudes to the issue.
The structure of the content has been defined in three areas:
1- Basic facts and information about climate change, and the two issues posed by energy and food and agriculture.
2- What is the Generalitat doing? Information on government action on the two issues posed by energy and food and agriculture.
3- Existing positions on the issues, proposed solutions and arguments.
